Time Forgets
by Maria Isabel Cecilia Pascual
(Manila, Philippines)
There are no birds chirping
Only the soft sighs of the morning air
And the sound of the rustling leaves
No sun to light the sky
Only those luminous clouds above
Kissed by moonlight at dawn
Lush green meadows now faded
Soft petals strewn on the cold ground
Wilted, crushed and has lost its scents
An attractive youthful face now wrinkled
Red plump lips now thinned with age
Brilliant eyes obscured behind thick glasses
All things withers, lost in time
But the memories lingers on
And love immortal as the wind and sea
Keep most despair at bay
And let thy tears run dry
But keep the childish smile alight...
Come hold my hand
Unto untraversed path we go
To marvel the unknown bliss ahead!
