The Dilemma

As the day passed, Aarti was looking around the house over and over again. It was just a day left to bid a final goodbye to their lovely home of around fifteen years. Bags were packed and life was ready for a new turn. But it wasn't an easy one for Aarti.
Aarti was leaving much more behind than just the empty house. Her prospering and flourishing career was suddenly about to take a back seat for now. It had been around twenty years that she had started her career. With such a rich work experience, she was now holding the title of a Director in a pharma-based company. The journey from where she had begun hadn't been a smooth ride. It was fulfilling and satisfactory. She had accomplished a lot over the years and also nurtured big dreams of flying even higher. But destiny seemed to have different plans for her. Her husband, Mahesh bagged a wonderful business project in Texas, and it demanded him to move into the new role immediately. It was a very high profile job and most importantly, something that he had been waiting for all his career life.
Everything that happened was too quick. The offer made to Mahesh, his presentation to the client company, their decision to get him on the roll. All of it were really sudden surprises. As Mahesh moved on to Texas
for the initial two-month setup, Aarti spent sleepless nights thinking over the decision to move or not. Most of the family and friends advised her against moving to Texas. Leaving such a booming career halfway all of a sudden, obviously seemed foolish to all.
Aarti had her own sentiments towards the whole thing. It had not been just a job for her. It was more like a second family. She had put in so much of dedication towards her work. It definitely meant a lot to her. Her team of around a hundred fifty people was like her own children to whom she had always been an inspiration. This job was her identity, her confidence, her self-worth and it wasn't easy giving up on that.
But here she was today, firm on her decision to accompany Mahesh in his new path. Even after all the calculations of the pros and cons and mindful thinking, though it was clear that continuing her career was probably the best choice, her heart held a different route. Knowing how much Mahesh would need her by his side on his new journey, she was sure she had to be there. Probably, it was her part of making a sacrifice for her better half. Though she was a bit nervous about the big change coming her way, she was confident enough that she was walking on the right road.
