The Oil bottle was opened and poured in the oil pot which was kept near the Stove. Then it was time to open her favorite powders.

She carefully opened the cinnamon, and inhaled it a bit. This was a habit she recently started after having reading the Benefits of inhaling it.

But just as she smelled the cinnamon she felt a sensation alien to her; it reached her tongue and it was not good and she found herself pouring the cinnamon quickly in the jar and closing it.

She then opened the vanilla powder and found the strange sensation returning, forcing her to deal with it the same way she did with the former.

Jiah walked out of the kitchen feeling strange all over. She sat on the couch and lied down there.
The Phone besides her couch rang.
'Hello' Jiah answered, she found herself feeling fatigue.
'Hey Jiah, what’s up, were you sleeping?'It was Jiah's best friend Natasha.

'No, I just came back from grocery shopping'
'Guess what Jiah? I made this awesome cheese cake, it is called chocolate mousse cheese cake, I am bringing them over to you now okay' Natasha spoke in excitement.

Jiah found the fatigue increasing and the sound of the cheese cake wasn't so slurpy to her ears.

'Err okay, Nat’ and Jiah kept down the phone and dozed away.

All hell broke in Jiah’s place when she threw up at the smell of the cheese cake.
‘What’s happened to me”! Jiah exclaimed lying down on the bed.
‘The inevitable, I suppose”Natasha said, handling her towel.

Yes, Jiah was expecting! And nothing remained the same for her!

Cheese cake, brownies and black forest - she ran away from them. Her nausea and morning sickness took care of her love for attempting baking of any kind.

The Tread Mill lay in its magnificent form standing silently.

“I can’t believe this is happening to me, I can’t eat my favorite blue berry cheese cake without throwing up!”Jiah moaned lying down on the sofa.

A Jar
of pickled mangoes sat in front of her, and she was eating, and devouring them with passion.
There was not a trace of any sugary bakes in her house. All had been disposed, given, shared, much to the joy of many receivers.

“Not being in love with the love of your life is strange indeed," Jiah said, thinking of her great love.

“Jiah, there are so many pregnant women who feel nauseated at the sight of their husbands. Be glad you are not one of them!” Natasha sitting next to her said.

Jiah shocked, reasoned "Yeah, glad I am not one of them" And she took another pickled Mango.

"Any way all these sweets and bakes won’t give you the nutrients that you need” Natasha remarked.
"Yeah, I know”. And Jiah got up from the sofa.
"Let’s go to the supermarket, I need to stock up some bananas and limes to help me with the morning blues, plus spinach’s and dry fruits. It’s all there in my time table which I printed out from the net.

It charts out what all I have to eat and how much servings. And you know Nat’s,I have already signed up for the Cradle’s Labor classes which I can join once I am done with the first trimester.
You won’t believe the different ways of laboring nowadays!Gone are the days when a woman in labor had to hold the hospital cot tight and lie down straight and labor. Nowadays she has so many more options!

In fact, we don’t have to go to the hospital itself! Imagine that! We can now even labor in the comforts of our house with a midwife to help! And guess what? There are some who are opting for even un-assisted birth. That is laboring without any professional help!’Jiah said in amazement.

“I wonder which option I will opt for!”Jiah smiled in excitement.

Having to forsake her previous loves hadn't been that bad at all for Jiah as she had found something else to be passionate about.

The Algebra of passions

I really enjoyed reading it.I could relate to a lot of it, and I bet a lot of other readers would too...people change as priorities change... I liked the way she positively transformed from baking to burning to birthing :) Keep writing...
