Shimmers in the Odds

by Harini Krishna
(Chennai, India)

The golden shades of the rising sun
on the white foam of the wild sea.
The dark blue horizons of the sky
merging into the misty blue of the ocean.
The light green flaps of the summer butterfly
playing hide and seek in the green bloom of shrubs.
The soft brown splashes of the humming bees
resting in the pink and purple of flowers.
The golden silver lines of sun
glowing at the edges of the black and grey clouds.
The specs of the white swans flying
against the white clouds and blue skies.
The colourless drops of dew on green glass blades
reflecting the iridescent colours of a rainbow.
The bright light of the sun’s pastel spread
dappling the white moon for a mellowing radiance.
The reflection of the one you love
in the glowing mirrors of your eyes.
Such unusual mixes of colours, such perfect blend
of the imperfect shades into an eclectic existence.
