Interview with Anshuman Raj{1} Can you tell me a little about yourself?Ans. I'm Anshuman Raj. I'm from Bihar, Saharsa. I'm studying in class 12th right now. I'm interested in literature. I've also written a poetry book named
"Let The Feelings Become Known." I like imagination more than reading. I mostly like reading English poems and short stories.
{2} How did you start writing?ans. I started writing when I passed tenth class. I used to read the poems of William Shakespeare, Pablo Neruda, John Keats and many other poets. I still read those poets. Once I was reading a sonnet of William Shakespeare "Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day?". This poem attracted me so much that I thought I must try to write something.
{4} What is the greatest joy of writing for you? Ans. The greatest joy of writing for me is that it provides me tranquil even in this world which is full of tensions, wars, fears, hates etc. It keeps me cheerful. Whenever I start writing a poem, it gives me a touch of enthusiasm inside me which seems to me that I am living that moment.
{6} Which has been your most challenging project?Ans. When I started writing poems at first, I had to be familiar with the style of writing, expressing and decorating. Reading helped me in facing such kinds of challenges.
The second challenge came to me when I had to publish my poetry book finally. I had to look for many Publishing Houses for my book. I selected Educreation Publishing House for my book finally.
{10} What was the hardest part of writing your new book?Ans. Writing sonnets and blank verses in my first poetry book named "Let The Feelings Become Known" was very challenging for me as it demanded me a lot of reading, concentration and so on.
{15} What has been your favourite writing journey and what did it create? Ans. However the entire journey of writing was very zestful for me but the most attractive part for me was writing the poems on love and nature. It created a kind of feeling inside me that the whole world can be won with love and care. It gave me a beautiful chance to know nature to the deep. It allows me to see the everlasting beauty of nature.
{16} What genre are your books, and what draws you to this genre? Ans. My first poetry book named "Let The Feelings Become Known" is the genre of poetry. I love writing poems because they help me in expressing myself in beautiful ways and in less words.
{17} Do you write every day, 5 days a week or as and when? Ans. Yes I try to write something every day whether it is a short poem or a long poem, a quote, a Haiku Poem etc. I mostly write at night as it provides me a favourable environment in which I find no one except me and my imaginative world.
{21} What authors do you like to read? What book or books have had a strong influence on you or your writing? Ans. I like to read Pablo Neruda, William Shakespear, John Keats and many other poets. The book that left a strong influence on me was the book of Pablo Neruda "Twenty Love Poems and A Song of Despair." I uses to read the book online and this book attracted me a lot. The sonnets of William Shakespeare and the odes of John Keats also attracted me a lot.
{39} What makes your book stand out from the crowd? Ans. My book stands out from the crowd because of my age. In the book of mine "Let The Feelings Become Known", the people will come to know the feelings of a school going boy. They'll know that the children keep a lot of feelings and care inside themselves besides hooliganisms. They'll also come to know how a school going boy has made efforts to express his feelings in a literary style. This book of mine also gives a message to the youths that if they have dedication to do anything, the age doesn't matter at all.
