Let Me and Another Poem

1) Let Me Dream
Let me dream
Let me desire,
Let me be the one I always wanted to be.
Let me fly,
Let me fall,
Let me be the one I was meant to be.
Let me travel,
Let me explore,
Let me be the one that my dreams carve out of me.
Let me make mistakes,
Let me correct them,
Let me be the one that my mistakes make of me.
Let me think,
Let me create,
Let me be the one that my thoughts make of me.
Let me swim,
Let me drown,
Let me be the one that my miseries make of me.
Let me build,
Let me break,
Let me be the one that my creation makes of me.
Set me free,
Let me see,
Let me be the one everyone would want to be.
Let me hope,
Let me believe,
Let me be the one my strength makes of me.
Let me feel,
Let me love,
Let me be the one my heart beats out to be.

2) Voice of the Silent
*she refers to all those women whose voices have been silenced*
She was oppressed,
She was broken,
But she was taught to remain silent.
She was judged,
She was questioned,
But she was taught to remain silent.
She was slapped,
She was abused,
But she was taught to remain silent.
She was blamed,
She was pointed,
But she was taught to remain silent.
Her voice was suppressed,
Her wings were clipped,
But she was taught to remain silent.
Her purity was questioned,
Her dignity was hampered,
But she was taught to remain silent.
But now, not anymore!
It’s time for her to fight,
It’s time for her to shout,
It’s time for her to let it all out,
It’s time for her to shine,
It’s time for to break all the rules,
It’s time for her to break the Silence.
She will shine,
She will fight,
She will create a better world,
For silence was never her type
