Items required
Coconut - 1 cup grated
Urad dal - 1 tbsp
Channa dal - 1 tbsp
Red chilly - 3
Green chilly - 3
Ginger - small piece
Tamarind - small piece
Salt to taste
Hing - a pinch
2 tbsp oil to fry
Method of Preparation
Take a pan, put oil, add channa dal, urad dal, red chilly and fry till golden brown and then add green chilly, ginger, hing and finally coconut.
Switch off the gas and let it cool. Grind all the ingredients with tamarind, salt with little water. It should be thick and coarse to mix with hot rice and eat. You can serve with dosa, idly and uttappam.
