Shall I Quit?
by Shubh Rana
(Vadodara , Gujarat, India)
Shall I quit?
with the brimming sea
full of tears and taunts
and injustices with me
I have my restraints
I lie in the garden of cactuses
for my abased flower pots
stand behind the carved fences
The unwanted pupils stared me
they meandered my happiness
tears filled my dry eyes
when they tricked me like a mess
Their fingers inspecting me
with no one by my side
I lied entangled in their arms
alone in the soulless night
The grilled bars
cant they just be fair?
in the isolated hall
for turning my dreams into a nightmare
Here I move ahead
the tides injuring me
I stand half wet
‘death’ is all I see
Till waist then neck
drowned in the sorrows
here I take my last breath
I sink with all my horrors
settling down and down
with no fingers and arms
just like the way was born
I quit all still and calm.
