How Do I...

by Maria Isabel Cecilia Pascual
(Manila, Philippines)

She sits by edge of the sea

Drawing circles in the sand

Blowing wishes in the wind

Hoping that this day will never end

Keeping the sunlight in her eyes

Until her questions were answered right

As she mumbles these words once more...

How do things in life fall

Into its rightful place

When your heart was torn

Into many pieces?

She looked at the sky

Saw these words inscribed

And ran away without looking back...

'You simply brush away the bitter tears, gather the pieces and mend it back.'

Dearest Geeta,

I am glad that you've recited this piece like I did in my mind...Like a song.

I'm amazed with your insight, you are a poet through and through.

Thank you for finding my simple collected words and thoughts worth reading.

Most Sincerely,
Isabel
