Fortitude
by Shruti
(Puducherry, India)
(Subtle smiles of serenity)
Frozen memories, unclaimed by time...
Unheard melodies, ringing in my mind...
Words are light, but feelings deep...
To reach out, through slope and steep...
For, life is queer, both hill and vale...
Yet there are many more fathoms to sail...
Like the sun smiling through the passing cloud...
Smile, hope, and laugh aloud...
Freeze, sweet memories, for time soon will claim...
The unlit lamps, and the burning flames...
The ray of hope will mysteriously creep...
And will penetrate through the stillness of sleep...
The hope which has led me through...
The calm oceans and the turbulent blue...
The hope which gives me fortitude...
I look forward to chance, with eternal gratitude...
