North America has 23 countries.

The largest of them is Canada and the smallest country in this part of the world is Saint Kitts and Nevis. 


South America has 12 countries and 3 dependent territories.

The largest country by area and the most populated is Brazil, it occupies about 50% of the total mainland area.
The smallest independent state is Suriname.


Australia/Oceania has 14 independent countries and 12 dependent overseas territories.


The largest sovereign state is Australia, occupying about 86% of the region's total area. The smallest independent country is Nauru, which is so tiny that you need less than an hour to drive around it.
